Hi I’m Vince Slater, Chef and Director of Slater’s Catering & Events Ltd.
With over 40 years of experience as a Chef, Hospitality Manager, and business owner, you are in safe hands.
My career began at 15 learning my craft to become a chef at one of Lancashire’s best Hotels, Barton Grange in Barton near Preston.
From a young age, my aim was to run my own business and I achieved this at the age of 24 starting an outside catering business in 1989 from a small site on Preston docks.
We Cater For
Weddings
Slater’s Catering provide food for weddings of all styles from casual buffets to a more traditional formal meal, we work with each client to achieve their vision.
Every wedding is unique and different. Some wedding couples are very clear about the catering they require while others do not know where to begin. It can feel overwhelming to choose food for so many guests and such a big occasion. We will listen to your ideas and requirements and will work with you to create your bespoke wedding food. We also work alongside other suppliers to ensure your day runs smoothly and worry free, so that you can relax and enjoy your big day.
All of our food is homemade and cooked individually for your event, all dietary requirements will be accommodated.
Funerals
We understand the difficulties of arranging a funeral at what is such a sad time, it can be stressful and emotionally draining, particularly as there is often little time to organise such an important occasion.
We will provide quality food, a professional and high quality service which will take away some of the pressure, so that you can spend time with your family and friends.
We are sympathetic to the fact that funerals are usually organised on short notice, so will work quickly to ensure that your needs are met. We can liaise directly with your funeral director if preferred.
Corporate Events
Slater’s Catering will work with you and your requirements to create an appropriate menu for your event.
We provide corporate catering for open days, business lunches, client meetings, team meetings, staff parties, charity events and other special occasions.
We can provide full service with our uniformed staff who will welcome your guests and look after them with warmth and professionalism.

Private Events
Food and drink are at the heart of any event and it is important to decide on catering that is personal to you, your guests and the purpose of the event.
We provide catering services and event management for private events such as birthday parties, christenings, dinner parties and anniversaries and much more and we would firstly meet up with you to discuss your event, your requirements and the kind of catering you would like and guide you to the menu that you are happy with to help make your event special, memorable and stress free so that you can be the host and enjoy it along with all your guests.
All our food is homemade and we cater for any allergies or special dietary requirements for your event.
Charity Events
We provide catering services and event management for charity events and we would firstly meet up with you to discuss your event, your requirements and the kind of catering you would like and guide you to the menu that you are happy with to help make your event special, memorable and stress free so that you can concentrate on the important tasks of raising those much needed funds.
